The story of Lagouta and Minoa Pediadas

The story of Lagouta and Minoa Pediadas

Every bottle of Minoiko begins with a place: Lagouta, a village in the region of Minoa Pediadas, in the mountainous heart of Heraklion, Crete.

Minoa Pediadas is olive country. Its hills, light and climate have shaped how people here live and eat for centuries, and olive cultivation has been part of everyday life for as long as anyone can remember.

A landscape made for the olive

The combination of altitude, sun and stony soil suits the olive tree well. Trees here are used to working for their living, and that is often what gives the oil its structure and character.

Where we come from

Our family's connection to these groves runs deep — long before Minoiko was established as a company. The knowledge that guides us today was formed here, tree by tree and season by season.

You cannot separate the oil from the place. They are the same story.
